Michaël graduated from the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam Netherlands and studied at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Television in Cuba.

He was awarded and nominated for Young Directors Awards in Cannes and several film festivals. Michael works both as a filmmaker and an autonomous artist, creating a body of work that combines genuine imagery with personal realism, incidentally elevating his films with a surreal touch.

Having lived in Indonesia and Norway, currently based in the Netherlands, Michaël is now in early production of a feature film, selected for development by l’Atelier at the Cannes Film Festival, and a music-documentary, both supported by the Dutch Film Funds.
