After graduating he started off as a Motion Designer and Editor before working as a Creative Director.

He lived in Barcelona and Frankfurt before he finally moved to Berlin.
After some years he came back to directing movies, focusing on commercials. His work is highly visual - he loves to shoot live action with authentic characters. With his background as Motion Designer he is also very familiar with VFX.Dirk was born and raised in Nürnberg, where he still likes to spend some free time, profiting from the proximity to the Alps.
